Johnny Cakes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of corn meal
  • 1 pint of butter-milk
  • 1 spoonful of cream or butter
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of soda

Directions

  1. Mix 2 cups of cornmeal with butter-milk and cream or butter
  2. Sift soda through the cup of flour
  3. Beat cornmeal mixture well together with flour soda mixture
  4. Bake in oven and serve hot
